bubble bath, body lotionThis past weekend my best friends threw me a 'spa' surprise birthday party which included some of my favorite things that I use to pamper myself. It was extremely thoughtful of them, considering the amount of stress I've been under lately with work, so they thought that the relaxation and spa idea was a good one. They bought me some of my favorite body lotion, skin cream, beauty gel and even bubble bath, which top the list of items that I use when I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Each person created a small gift basket in relation to her gift, and also included other things I could use to relax such as books, new music from my favorite artists, chocolate, and coffee.

The girls also went together and bought me a gift certificate to my favorite spa, which is several hours away. I felt as though they'd already done so much with the bubble bath and skin lotion and other goodies, but they said that the stipulation with the spa day was that I had to make sure they could come along on the day I selected so that they could enjoy it as well. Since there's nothing quite like spending a spa day with friends, I was more than happy to agree. The evening continued with dinner at my favorite restaurant. After dinner we all came back to my place where I found my favorite champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries. The girls had really outdone themselves this year for my birthday and also in hopes that I will take some time to relax in the bubble bath and pamper myself. It was truly one of the most special days of my life and we've already set a date for our day at the spa and I can't wait. This is what friendship is all about and I'm so grateful to have these girls in my life.
